Dear Member
As a club, we are facing an ever-increasing workload but without the physical resources to achieve everything we wish to. The team managers, committees and others do what they can but we are looking within the club membership for anyone who can help by volunteering to take over certain tasks where we are stretched.
Namely, we are looking for someone to work alongside Jim Dixon as House Manager to maintain the club and be present during the working day to allow access to the club to guests, contractors etc.
We also require a small group with experience of dealing with sponsors to attract new sponsors and then look after and maintain an 'after-sales' relationship with them. The more sponsors we have, the less the annual subscriptions you pay as they go a long way to subsidise the running costs of the club.
Also required is someone that can liaise with Portsmouth City Council on a regular basis to ensure pitches are allocated, maintained etc in readiness for the matches to be played.
Finally, Walking Rugby. Walking Rugby is a slower paced version of the sport which is accessible to all regardless of age, health and ability. Walking Rugby has experienced a strong growth in recent years and has acted as the catalyst in attracting many people back into playing rugby due to its various health and fitness benefits and a strong sense of fun and enjoyment. Walking Rugby is a non–contact sport and is suitable for both females and males to participate in. We are looking for someone to take on the role of organiser and the point-of-contact for a Portsmouth RFC Walking Rugby team or two!
Already, we have fantastic volunteers helping with a new website, social media etc but we need more. If you can help in any way, please contact Chalky White at
